AFTER PAINTING FIRE

This INTENSITY inside me

WANTS, WANTS, WANTS

MORE,
wants what's DEEP
what's REAL
Wants sharpness,
wants BRIGHTNESS that hurts

Wants pain, wants ecstasy
wants what wakes, what cleaves
open
Wants Shiva tearing out
resistance by the roots
and throwing it on the dung heap
Wants Kali ripping with
bloody teeth
Wants war, rape, murder
Wants PASSION
Wants ENLIGHTENMENT
WANTS IT ALL:
Wants LOVE that BLAZES,
BURNS CLEAR THROUGH TO
ENDLESS LIGHT
Wants MUSIC to vibrate the BONES
Wants FOOD that EXPLODES
IN THE MOUTH

WANTS OUT OUT OUT

Wants BEAUTY that SCORCHES THE NERVES
Wants TRUTH that DEVASTATES THE SOUL
Wants a GOD OF THUNDER and BRILLIANCE
Wants ARMAGEDDON
Wants the WORLD TUMBLED
FROM ITS ORBIT

FALLING,

FALLING

FALLING

INTO THE ARMS OF

A SUN GOD

OF BURNING SOUND

Wants DANCING WHIRLING SINGING

BEYOND

BEYOND

BEYOND

WANT NO LIMITS

OPEN OPEN OPEN

FUCKED BY GOD WIDE OPEN

TO BLISS

TO DISSOLUTION

TO SURRENDER

TO UTTER DEVOTION

NO SELF ANYWHERE

NO, it says. NO.

NO to limits

NO to CARING & BEING CAREFUL

NO to KINDNESS & SELF-PROTECTION

NO to COMPROMISES with ‘reality’

NO.

ONLY GOD

ONLY GOD

ONLY GOD

Suggested Contemplations

I just love this piece. Whenever I am feeling a bit on the low energy side, reading this or hearing it spoken blows the cobwebs right out of my head , wakes me up and makes me feel like striding confidently into whatever unknown future might await me. It is a brisk, bracing energy tonic for my soul!

Thanks as always for your amazing gifts.
